The dad is done… and I mean finished…

with graduate school that is!!!! See, we didn’t finish up college like normal folks do. Oh no, we went a little, then the dad went into the military and we got married. We also had the two oldest girlie piglets. So when we went back to school, we had two toddlers and not much else. The dad worked up to three jobs at a time to make ends meet for us and went to school. I tried to plan my schedule around three half days of daycare, cause it was all we could afford. We lived in a tiny apartment, then a tiny house and the dad worked at a sandwich shop making food, a shoe store selling athletic junk, a men’s clothing store, the police department, and then finally close to the end went back to work for the military and continued school at night. So…. for the last 10 years, he has worked on first finishing his undergrad and now his MBA from Millsaps College. All while supporting a wife and 4 kids. All at night and on weekends. Now that’s endurance folks. That’s dedication and a HUGE desire to better yourself. We have paid for it all ( both of ours) too right down to pencils and books. His company did pay for the last year of his MBA tuition which was a blessing since it costs like 3500 a class. Now he is done. The final presentation was last night and he took off work today and tomorrow. We have 4 full days with the dad. Oops… I just peed my pants a little in excitement. Seriously… we don’t get to see him that much so this is a big deal! So big in fact that tiny piglet got up at 5AM to start our day….

So I am off today to buy new blue jeans and shoes for school. It starts next week. I am counting down the seconds. The diet is also going well. We are still on it and the dad had lost like 10 pounds. Me… I am at like 4. It sucks and it’s sexist and wrong. I gave birth to 4 piglets. I GREW 4 human things inside of myself and this is the thanks from nature I get?? That reminds me of something funny. I remember when I was preggo with #4 and the dad would call home to see what was going on. He would ask what I was doing and my stock response became ” Oh nothing… just growing a baby”. It also works well with ” What did you do today?, What are you doing this week?”etc… Try it… you’ll like it.

In closing…. I am so proud of the dad and all he has done both for himself and us. He has set himself up to be the best he can be in our next adventure! We won’t know anything until late October still…but keep your fingers crossed. Hey dad… if you read this…. I am so full of pride and joy for you I fell like a big ole sack of farts I’m so swelled up. Or… as my dad would say swolled up. Yesterday was the 4 year anniversary of daddy’s death. I love you and miss you like a nutter…
